Today, dogs are loved and adopted by more and more people because of their amusing, lovely, and cleverness. They not only bring joy, but sometimes, they also bring luck, like saving their owners. Here is the story of how the brave German Shepherd saved his owner when the boat capsized.

One day on the weekend, the man decided to take his German shepherd, Heidi, go out fishing on Moreton Bay. They seem to be very excited about this trip. At first, the weather was very favorable. The owner sat on the boat while Heidi wagged her tail and sat beside him. After catching no more fish for a while, the man rowed further out to catch more fish to bring home. At this moment, the weather suddenly turned worse. Dark clouds came, and strong winds made everything unable to stand still, signaling an impending storm.

The power of the storm was terrible. It made the water’s surface tumultuous. The waves hit the side of the boat, causing it to wobble and have engine problems. Heidi’s owner became worried and began to seek help. But no one could help them now. Finally, succumbing to the force of the waves, the boat capsized, and both Heidi and her owner fell into the water. The water was cold, and some rumors said Moreton Bay had a lot of dangerous big fish there. That’s why the owner of Heidi couldn’t calm down. He was extremely nervous for her because she couldn’t hold onto the side of the boat and could drift anywhere. It was a risky situation indeed.

After 15 hours of soaking in the cold water, Heidi got lucky. A team of water police patrolled after the storm to check if anyone was in danger. And then they caught a  German Shepherd soaking in the water. They immediately approached and rescued her. It seemed she was exhausted after a long time facing risk. The police team gave her first aid and took her to the vet. The police thought that maybe her owner was also in danger. However, they were not sure about this speculation because Heidi was not wearing a life jacket, nor did her neck have a name tag. There was nothing to prove that Heidi was a German Shepherd with an owner. And they did not get any calls or notifications about someone missing. But with their experience and judgment, the water police rescue team still decided to search even though they had no idea who they were looking for.

Another search had been taken up by the water police team. This team divided into small groups to speed up the search. And after 4 hours, they found Heidi’s owner. He tried to hold on to the side of the boat all night to avoid sinking to the bottom of the bay. He looked exhausted, so the police rushed him to the boat and gave him first aid carefully. Then they took him to the hospital to make sure his health was okay after being in the water for so long. Heidi’s owner feels very lucky because both of them were fine. After his health stabilized, the man thanked the water policies for saving his and his dog’s life. Policemen said that was their responsibility. In addition, they also told the man when he wanted to sail out to the bay, he had to tell someone when he left and would return. And both should wear life jackets, and a name tag for the dog to make everyone know when something unexpected happens.

Someone said dogs are the best friend of humans. But in this case, Heidi – the German Shepherd is much more than that. She saved her owner’s life when their boat capsized. Heidi is such a brave girl, and she deserves more love from her boss and everyone. Don’t hesitate to share this touching story with your friends if you think it’s fantastic.
